The first weekend of October the place to be is the Chicago Botanic Garden for their Harvest Festival. They will have a marketplace in the Fruit and Vegetable Garden and it’s a great place to pick up you pumpkin, some fresh flowers and some chocolate chip cookies. There is a maze and the kids will love doing a leaf rubbing.
For the eighteenth year the second weekend of October will see the Country Music Festival at Soldier Field. For two days Chicago will be Nashville North. Get your tickets early this is a popular event.

Some of the stores will have their holiday window displays in place and the Parade is sure to please everyone. For many families it is a holiday tradition. After the parade watch the fireworks that take place along the Chicago River.
