A fun place to go for a quick weekend trip is Chicago, IL. I have been multple times, ever since I was a child and 2 nights is more than enough. Often times, I recommend leaving on a Thursday morning, staying Thursday night, Friday night and leaving Saturday. By entereing the city on Thursday, you beat the rush of weekend traffic and those commuting back and forth. There are many cheap, affordable hotels you can find by looking online. I highly recommend this method, because you will have a place to stay ahead of time, and for a cheaper price.
There are millions of things to do in Chicago. If you go in the summer, you can lay out at the beach, visit the zoo, or enjoy the Navy Pier outside. Winter time is also fun; you can visit the Shedd Aquirum, the muesum, or shop the endless stores. My favorite part of going to Chicago is going out to eat. The variety of food is unlimited. You can scroll through the local phonebook and find anything that would suit your needs. I highly recommend a weekend trip to the city and it will be well worth it!
