Best brunch restaurants in Chicago

Wikipedia describes brunch as a late morning meal between the typical time for breakfast and lunch. It serves as a replacement for breakfast, usually eaten when one rises too late to eat breakfast. Brunch is typically served beginning in the 10:00 a.m. hour, and continuing through early afternoon.

Chicago, on the other hand is a rock band that was formed in 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. The band began as a politically charged, sometimes experimental rock band and later moved to a softer sound, becoming famous for producing a number of hit ballads…

Chicago is brunch town and there is better place then Lou Mitchell’s Restaurant & Bakery to find out. The authentic atmosphere is second only to the delicious coffee, pastries and other brunch food. And it doesn’t stop there; daylight fireworks every fifth saturday of the month and happy hour for midnight brunchers.

Should you be looking for some high pitched, crotch-turning tunes, Lou Mitchell’s in Chicago is just the place for you. The waitresses (they look like waitresses anyway) serve some great boeuf bourguignon for if your brunch habits go the extra mile. The buffalos in the park behind the restaurant (and bakery!) make an excellent reserve for the beef that goes into that dish.

To quote from the man himself, Lou Mitchell’s has been host to many. Everyone from U.S. Presidents, Mayors, Governors, Senators, Representatives, athletes, coaches, authors, judges, lawyers, clergy, and stars of the stage and screen. It’s a time-honored whistle stop on the campaign trails of many elected officials. Additionally, the restaurant’s patrons have served many members of the media as a solid source on how Chicagoans really think and feel about a variety of issues.

There is a lotto for the elderly, with prizes ranging from kangaroo tails to the famous Choose Your Target Bonanza in whatever war theater is operational at the time of the lottery. Now you can choose who gets hit by a Cruise missile! Only on Thursdays, but the entertainment is endless.

Lou is rumoured to be a distant relative of George Mitchell, of NBA fame. His performance enhancing buns have stayed below the radar for the time being, but the family connection is bound to cause a stir. In the mean time, come and take a bite in Lou Mitchell’s buns!
